Andrew Garfield takes up arms against the English crown in the first trailer for The Uprisinga historical drama written and directed by Paul Greengrassfilmmaker known for projects such as the franchise Bourne, Captain Phillipsy United 93material with which Greengrass has positioned himself in political terrain, with the last two also being based on real events, the same case as his most recent film proposal, a large-scale survival thriller.
Set in 14th century England, The UprisingGarfield plays Wat Tyler, a farmer turned legendary leader of a fierce rebellion against the tyranny of King Richard II. As war rages across England, he musters an army of common people ready to challenge the king's forces in a battle for justice and survival.
The movie of Focus Features portrays real events of the Peasants' Revolt of 1381 in England.
In addition to Garfield, the cast includes Jamie Bell (Half Man), Stephen Dillane (Alex Rider), Tom Hollander (Feud: Bette and Joan), Cosmo Jarvis (Shogun), Thomasin McKenzie (Jojo Rabbit), Jonny Lee Miller (The Crown), Woody Norman (The Electric State), Katherine Waterston (The Agency), y Sky Yang (Anniversary).
