Hey Hey – FairTix Leipzig – frohfroh – we like electronic music from leipzig

After a little break there is a new edition of our Hey Hey podcast. This time it’s about FairTix Leipzig, an initiative to support the Leipzig club and concert scene.

Our podcast host Sebastian has invited Conne Island booker Jan and Jörg from LiveKommbinat Leipzig, which represents the interests of Leipzig clubs and concert locations, as guest speakers. Jörg was also heard in the first Hey Hey issue.

This issue is about FairTix Leipzig and the Clubeuro. This is a pilot project by the local ticket provider TixForGigs, where you support Leipzig’s club culture with advance ticket sales. How it works? Participating clubs such as the Distillery or the Institut fuer Zukunft can charge one club euro for each ticket at individual events, but at the same time the service fee from TixForGigs is reduced. The euro then goes to the LiveKombinat Leipzig to finance projects that benefit the networking and further development of the local club culture. Or expressed in a graphic:

In addition to FairTix Leipzig, this Hey Hey issue is also about how the Leipzig clubs – especially Conne Island – are coping with the challenges of Corona, rising production costs, sluggish advance sales and fewer experiments with booking. But listen for yourself:
