The autumn tour of the Spinnerei is coming up again soon. This year it’s worth going a few steps further on Sunday – to the LUCY Festival. We have tickets to give away.

For those who didn’t know: An architectural highlight has been hiding behind the Spinnerei since 2020 – the white-glass sphere designed by the famous Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer, who died in 2012. His bullet looks as if it rushed straight into an old brick factory. An urban metorite in the middle of an active industrial company – the Kirow works, after all the leading manufacturer of railway cranes. The interesting story behind the ball can also be seen here in a video.

The unique Oscar-Niemeyer-Space is part of the Techne Sphere on the premises of the Kirow-Werke, meanwhile a not unimportant place for the Leipzig cultural scene. Because the Techne Sphere is always used for performances, exhibitions and theater performances – and on September 18 with an indoor rave in warehouse style, the LUCY Festival.

The day festival was supposed to take place last year on the Pittlerwerke site, but then Corona got in the way again. After a long search, the two curators Georg and Lucy have now found a place that is as impressive as it is suitable in the Techne Sphere, where new and old meet between house and techno on two floors. And with a very exciting line-up.

With Marcel Dettmann, Job Jobse and Barker, not only three really great headliners have been invited, from 12 noon a whole range of international newcomers and real insider tips will be DJing – including Niks from London and THC and Zeynep from Berlin. With I$A and ttyfal, two upcoming acts from Leipzig will also be there. Here is an impression of what awaits you musically:
