Allison Williams (Get Out, M3GAN) y Michelle Randolph (Scream 7, Landman) joined to science fiction thriller Homewreckerfrom the French director Xavier Gens (Frontier(s), Under Paris), according to reports from Deadline.
The script was written by Elisa Bell (Vegas Vacation) y Travis Gordon.
This is the official synopsis:
“During a heartbreaking family revelation, three Americans with tragic fates are suddenly forced to work together to survive a terrifying and inexplicable global event that threatens to destroy life as they know it.”
The source report informs that, producers have compared the project to sci-fi thriller 10 Cloverfield Lane the Dan Trachtenberg.
Production is scheduled to begin in France in mid-July this year.
In an official press release, Williams spoke about what attracted her to the project:
“I found the script fascinating and had a depth that was revealed and transformed as I read it. Furthermore, knowing Xavier's work, I was looking forward to working with this talented filmmaker. I feel grateful to be part of this team and this project.”
Randolph, who this year was part of the huge horror box office hit, Scream 7added:
“I was immediately attracted to how Homewrecker combines psychological tension with a deeply character-driven plot. It has an intensity and unpredictability that makes it a fascinating project. “I am so excited to be a part of this with Allison and Xavier.”
Finally, Gens shared his excitement about the project:
“I'm excited to explore American mythology from a unique and intimate perspective. I'm looking forward to sharing the set with Allison Williams and Michelle Randolph and pushing the limits of humanity further than I've ever gone before.”
The producers of Homewrecker are Denise Di Novi (Crazy, Stupid, Love), Margaret French Isaac Stepmom), Oliver Scherick, John Zois (franchise Greenland) and Warren Goz (The Marksman). Executive producers are Michael Rothstein, Samuel Hall, and Allison Williams.
