Picturesy Amblin Entertainmenthas a current chapter of the blockbuster underway Twister (1996), with the film titled Twistersfrom the director Lee Isaac Chung (to the pain), starring Daisy Edgar-Jones (Where the Cradwdads Sing, Normal People) y Glen Powell (Top Gun: Maverick, Anyone But You) as opposing forces coming together to try to predict, and possibly control, the immense power of tornadoes.

She's a former storm chaser who, after surviving a disastrous encounter with a tornado, works behind a desk, though she'll soon be forced into the breach once again.

The marketing campaign continues to prepare the audience for the premiere of Tornadoswith a new official trailer in which we see that storm patterns continue to be studied with the Dorothy system from the original film, and that a new one is being tested.

This new installment is not promoted as a reboot or sequel to the original blockbuster hit, Twister, but as an update of it. Studies describe it as a new chapter that he doesn't plan to bring back old characters.

The rest of the cast is made up Anthony Ramos (Hamilton, A Star is Born, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts), Brandon Perea (Nope), Maura Tierney (The Iron Claw), Kiernan Shipka (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina), David Corenswet (Superman: Legacy), y Katy O’Brian (Star Wars: The Mandalorian).

Chung directs the script Mark L. Smith (The Revenant), con Frank Marshall (Indiana Jones, Jurassic World, Bourne) as the producer.

Directed by Lee Isaac Chung, the Oscar-nominated writer-director of Minari, Twisters stars Golden Globe nominee Daisy Edgar-Jones (Where the Crawdads Sing, Normal People) and Glen Powell (Anyone But You, Top Gun: Maverick) as opposing forces coming together to try to predict, and possibly control, the immense power of tornadoes.

Edgar-Jones plays Kate Cooper, a former storm chaser dogged by a devastating encounter with a tornado during her college years, who now studies storm patterns on screens safely in New York City. Her friend Javi lures her back to the open plains to test an innovative new tracking system. There, she crosses paths with Tyler Owens (Powell), the charming and reckless social media superstar who enjoys posting her adventures, chasing storms with her raucous gear, the more dangerous the better.

As storm season intensifies, terrifying phenomena never seen before will be unleashed, and Kate, Tyler and their competing teams find themselves squarely in the path of multiple storm systems converging over central Oklahoma in the fight of their lives.

Warner Bros. will release it in Mexico and the rest of Latin America on July 18, 2024.
