El comic book Avengelyne created by Rob Liefeld (also creator of Deadpool) is going to be adapted for the big screen by Warner Bros. and a luxury creative team.

According to Deadline reports, Margot Robbie (Barbie) is considering the lead role, with Olivia Wilde (Booksmart, Don’t Worry Darling) as director, and Tony McNamara (Poor Things) as a screenwriter. Additionally, Robbie will produce the feature film with his company LuckyChap.

The outlet reports that the studio is “negotiating to close a seven-figure film rights deal. Most of the deals are closed.”

“Avengelyne is an angel who fights against the forces of evil and often comes face to face with demons and monsters.”

“She was the most feared warrior in Heaven's Warhost, having single-handedly stormed Pandemonium, the outer fortress of Hell, to confront the Devil himself. She is a fallen angel, banished from heaven by God after being tricked into questioning her love for humans. Avengelyne was stripped of all of her angelic abilities, beyond her great strength and her blood, which once extracted from her body, could be used as a weapon or miracle, when she empowered herself by quoting Bible verses. . Avengelyne uses her powers to fight demons on Earth and is being prepared to be humanity's last hope in the coming Armageddon.
