NEON continues with the recently started marketing campaign for the horror thriller Cuckoofrom the screenwriter and director Tilman Singer (Luz). This has been a project that has had to postpone its release on several occasions over the course of three years, but in recent days set the final release date on May 3, 2024.

It is for this reason that NEON takes on the task of preparing the audience for the launch, releasing a new teaser trailer, which, like another of the company's upcoming releases, Longlegschooses not to leave anything revealed and chooses mystery as its best strategy.

The film stars Hunter Schaferwho gained notoriety from his performance in the HBO series, Euphoria. They accompany him in the cast, Dan Stevens (Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, The Guest), Jessica Henwick (The Matrix Resurrections), Marton Csokás (The Equalizer), Greta Fernandez (A Thief’s Daughter) y Jan Bluthard (Luz).

The first plot details are revealed in the official synopsis:


“Reluctantly, 17-year-old Gretchen leaves her American home to live with her father, who has just moved to a resort in the German Alps with his new family. Arriving at her future residence, they are greeted by Mr. König, her father's boss, who shows an inexplicable interest in Alma, Gretchen's mute half-sister. Something doesn't seem right in this quiet vacation paradise. “Gretchen is plagued by strange noises and bloody visions until she discovers a shocking secret that also concerns her own family.”

Filming took place in Germany in 35 mm format.

Cuckoo will have its world premiere at the SXSW 2024 Festival next March, in Austin, Texas.

The teaser offers the following description:

“Following his festival sensation LIGHT, German director Tilman Singer has once again managed to create an atmospheric and visually exceptional horror journey with an original plot and wicked twists.”

Markus Halberschmidt, Josh Rosenbaum, Maria Tsigka, Ken Kao, Thor Bradwell and Ben Rimmer are the producers of the feature film, while Tom Quinn, Jeff Deutchman, Emily Thomas, Ryan Friscia are the executive producers. FICTION PARK and Waypoint Entertainment are the production companies.

Paul Faltz is the director of photography, with Dario Mendez Acosta in charge of production design. Simon Waskow y Henning Hein they make up the original soundtrack and sound engineer, respectively.
