Ever walked through someone else’s dreams? In an audio-visual performance, a neuroscience collective from the Max Planck Institute makes exactly that possible.

On December 9th, the Aiar Collective invites you to a “Brain Controlled Multisensory Experience” in the Kulturnhalle Leipzig-Probstheida. The whole thing sounds extremely exciting and ambitious: A person lies down with an EEG setup around their head and falls asleep – they go through different sleep phases and will very likely also dream. Each phase and each dream causes different brainwaves. And it is precisely these streams that are transmitted in sounds and visuals.

The audiovisual performance is spatially structured in such a way that it is based on the EEG electrodes of the dreaming person. As a visitor, you can walk through your head and the dream world and perceive the processes taking place in it – through different rhythms, visual flickering and different sounds.

“Dreams of Others” is taking place for the second time, you can get an impression here in the video:

The performance will be accompanied scientifically, technically and artistically by Federico Murgia, Solomon Walter Kelly and Nicola Piccini.
