Flamengo started with an aggressive volume of play, but was not very efficient in shooting. Coach Fernando Pereira's team wasted opportunities both inside and outside the box and depended on Cummings, who scored 11, to score.

On the other hand, Brasília took advantage of the plays articulated by point guard Corvalan, which were converted mainly by Brunão and Crescenzi, with six points each. The extraterrestrials had a seven-point lead, but when the score was 23 to 18, Rubro-Negro sought a draw with a three-pointer from Kayo and an individual shot from Franco Baralle, when the clock reached zero: 23 to 23.

Continuing the rhythm of the final stretch of the first period, Flamengo went on a 19-0 run, taking advantage of the gaps in the defense offered by Brasília. Shaq Jhonson had the freedom to circulate in the paint and score the same eight points as Negrete, who shone with two successful attempts at three-pointers.

The home team imposed itself in the second half of the period and started to step more on the opponent's box, generating opportunities for two points and free throws. Crescenzi, Corvalan and Paulichi helped to close the gap in the second half: 49 to 42.

With pain in his right thigh, Corvalan played at the beginning of the third period, but could not stand the discomfort and soon left the court. Without one of its main players in the frame, Brasília looked for strength to draw with three three-pointers followed by Paulichi, Crescenzi and Buiú: 58 to 58.

Afterwards, Flamengo was lethal again with its shots to regain the advantage. In the final stretch, Negrete was sent off after throwing the ball at the backboard out of contention, committing his second technical foul. Even so, Rubro-Negro established a solid margin of five points for the final quarter: 74 to 69.

4TH BEDROOM

Technically the weakest of the game, the last period was marked by stoppages for challenges and instant replays. As the atmosphere of tension increased on the court, players made more fouls and hampered the progress of the match.

In an attempt to formulate a last reaction, coach Dedé Barbosa threw Argentine Corvalan back onto the court, which was not enough to contain Flamengo's momentum. Inspired, Gui Deodato and Franco Baralle contributed with disconcerting plays and fatal shots, while Cummings maintained his good use of shots. In the end, Rubro-Negro got fouls converted into free throws by Wesley and Shaq Jhonson, closing the score at 96 to 88.
