This year we will have a double dose of Shyamalan. On the one hand, Ishana Night Shyamalan will debut as a feature film director with the horror project The Watchers (in theaters in June), and a couple of months later, his father, M. Night Shyamalan (The Sixth Sense, Glass) will release his most recent film on the big screen, Trap.

The comedy-horror thriller will be distributed by Warner Bros. on a new date. According to media reports will be released in theaters on August 9, 2024 (previously released on August 2).

The cast is headed by Josh Hartnett (Oppenheimer, Pearl Harbor), Hayley Mills (The Wheel of Time, Unforgotten), Marnie McPhail (Orphan Black: Echoes, The Way Home), Vanessa Smythe (The Expanse, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds), Saleka Shyamalan, Scott Ian MacDugall, Kristi Woodsy Cali Lorella.

OFFICIAL SYNOPSIS:

“A father and his teenage daughter attend a pop concert, where they realize they are at the center of a dark and sinister event.”

Trap is the first film Shyamalan has made under his new deal with Warner Bros., which has been described as a “multi-year first-look directing and producing deal.”

Shyamalan is the director, screenwriter and producer. Marc Bienstock is another of the producers.
