A new killer doll makes its way into theaters, with the release of the tech horror thriller, M3GANfrom the director Gerard Johnstone (Housebound), the screenwriter Akela Cooper (Malignant, The Nun 2), and original story by Cooper and James Wanthe latter producer of the feature film with Jason Blum of Blumhouse Productions, y Allison Williams (Get Out, The Perfection, Girls), as lead and executive producer.

The project, whose plot revolves around an evolved android doll with malevolent intentions, is scheduled to be released in theaters in the United States for January 6, 2023, Universal Pictures in Mexico it premiered on December 29, 2022– so the study’s marketing campaign continues to reveal news.

The most recent is an EW interview with Wan – who has experience with evil dolls being the creator of the Conjuring Universe and has the evil doll in his catalog Annabelle–, Blum, Johnstone, y Williams.

The comparisons between M3GAN, Annabelle, And till Chuckyhave been inevitable, and when the outlet questioned them about who would win in a fight between M3GAN y AnnabelleThey answered like this:

JAMES WAN: Listen. M3GAN is a completely new breed that we have not seen before. I wouldn’t be surprised if M3GAN has some great tricks up its sleeve, especially if we’re lucky enough to have future stories.. Why can’t M3GAN have rocket launchers within easy reach? That would be amazing. I would blow up any doll on the planet.

ALLISON WILLIAMS: I would never bet against M3GAN. Never never. I have to go with my girl. She has the world wide web in her being. She could win anything.

GERARD JOHNSTONE: Who would win in a fight between M3GAN and Annabelle? Well, I guess because Annabelle is a demon, maybe she would win. Maybe we should make a movie and find out!

JASON BLUM: I thought you were going to say, “[quién ganaría] between M3GAN and Chucky.” That’s hard, because Annabelle has magical powers, that’s hard. I don’t know about that. But if it was Chucky, M3GAN would win.

And perhaps, if the merger between Blumhouse de Blum, and Atomic Monster de Wan, materializes, we do not rule out that plans for a crossover between M3GAN y Annabelle. Why not?

The film stars Allison Williams (Get Out, The Perfection, Girls), playing Gemma, who takes over the care of Cady (Violet McGraw), his little 8-year-old niece, after the girl was orphaned. Gemma decides to take home the M3GAN prototype that she has been working on. The android doll forms a bond with Cady with terrifying consequences.
