Miramax has a series of Halloweenwhich will mark the debut of the horror franchise of Michael Myers on the small screen. The studio won the bid for the rights to make the series last October.

Miramax will collaborate with Trancas International of Malek Akkad for the small screen project, with Miramax co-producing and developing the show. As information, we share with you that Miramax is co-owner of the film rights with Trancas.

Miramax's Marc Helwig offers the first news on the Halloween series. In an interview with Deadline, he reveals that a “creative reboot” is coming, meaning that it will not be a continuation of the story seen in the recent film trilogy by David Gordon Green and Blumhouse:

The basis is the original film, the John Carpenter film, the characters in that film and perhaps a group of characters that we haven't focused on as much in recent film versions or even in several of them.

“It's a complete creative reboot and a return to the original film, rather than being derived from any of the more recent film adaptations.”

Helwig adds:

“We are on the fast track, it is a great priority for us. We've had a lot of interesting conversations over the last few months with several really talented people and I think we'll have a pretty good idea of what we're going to do very soon. We hope to close the creative team very soon.”
