The GREAT marketing campaign developed by the independent film company NEONfor the horror project Longlegs of Osgood Perkins (also know as Oz Perkins, The Blackcoat’s Daughter), continues this day with a new teaser.
The horror thriller stars Maika Monroe y Nicolas Cageas an FBI agent, and a serial killer, respectively.
The enigmatic trailer, available at the end of this note, continues in the mysterious vein of the previous previews, showing quick images of different scenarios, while a voice-over is heard, apparently from Monroe, asking “Are you still saying your prayers?” “I never said my prayers. Not even once. They scared me.”
Longlegs This is one of the most anticipated genre film releases of 2024, thanks mainly to great promotion from NEON, and the anticipation of seeing Monroe and Cage together on screen, two actors who have been involved in numerous audience favorite horror film projects. Monroe has starred It Follows –who has the sequel underway They Follow–, The Guest, Tau, Greta, Villains, Significant Otherand more recently, Watcher. For his part, we remember Cage for Pig, Renfield. Arcadian, Grand Isle, The Wicker Man, Looking Glass, y Mandy.
SYNOPSIS:
“FBI agent Lee Harker (Monroe) is assigned to a serial killer case that takes unexpected turns, revealing evidence of the occult. Harker discovers a personal connection to the killer and must stop him before he attacks again.
Alicia Witt (Urban Legend, I Care a Lot), Blair Underwood (Origin, American Crime Story), y Vanessa Walsh (Murdaugh Murders: The Movie) complete the cast.
Longlegs got the Rated R by the MPA for:
“Bloody violence, disturbing images and some language.”
Perkins filmed in Vancouver in 2023, and had a screening on the European Film Market (EFM) where it was acquired by NEON.
The producers are Cage with his production company Saturn Films, Dan Kagan, Brian Kavanaugh-Jones, Dave Caplan, and Chris Ferguson.
NEON will premiere Longlegs in theaters July 12, 2024.
