The King of the Monsters celebrates 70 years since its theatrical release in November with the theatrical re-release of the Oscar winner for best visual effects, Godzilla Minus One.

The return of the acclaimed film to the big screen is part of the great celebration of That one for the seven decades since the release of the classic Gojira (1954) by director Ishirō Honda, which marked the debut of Godzilla.

“The Oscar®-winning film returns to theaters to celebrate the 70th anniversary of King of the Monsters, with approximately 13 minutes of exclusive bonus content to mark the release of the first film.

“Japan, devastated after the war, faces a new threat in the form of Godzilla. How will the country face this impossible situation?”

The special relaunch of Godzilla Minus One is scheduled for Friday, November 1, 2024, and the film will be screened at various venues, including AMC Theaters and Regal Cinemas in the United States.

The film, original title Gojira -1es directed by prolific filmmaker Takashi Yamazakiwho was in charge of the visual effects of Shin Godzillamost recently co-wrote and directed Lupin III: The First. This marked the 30th live-action film in Toho's kaiju franchise, and the first Godzilla from Toho, from Shin Godzilla (2016).

Its historic victory at the Oscars, in the Best Visual Effects category, is even more impressive when we talk about the fact that this was the first Oscar nomination for any film about Godzilla. It is notable to remember that its budget was just $15 million dollars. The visual effects were created for less than $10 million.giving a class to major Hollywood productions in the quality of effects achieved with a low budget for productions of this caliber.

Its original theatrical release was in December 2023, achieving a domestic box office of $56.4 million and $59.4 million internationally, for a global total of $115.8 million.

OFFICIAL SYNOPSIS:

“In postwar Japan, a new terror emerges; Godzilla. Will the devastated people be able to survive… much less defend themselves?”

The main cast is made up of Ryunosuke Kamiki, Minami Hanabe, Yuki Yamada, Hidetaka Yoshioka, Sakura Ando, Kuranosuke Sasakiy Munetaka Aoki.
