Behind the commercial success achieved by The Batman of Matt Reeves y Warner Bros. gave way to the studio launching the serie spinoff “The Penguin” which will be centered on the character played by Colin Farrell in the film.
The project that was originally discussed in September 2021, was officially greenlit through HBO Max, with the return of Farrell in a villainous role.
The most recent news confirms that the actress has been signed Cristin Milioti (Palm Springs, Made For Love) in female lead role playing Sofia Falcone, daughter of Carmine Falconewho in Reeves’ film is characterized by John Turturro.
According to Deadline reports:
“[En la serie] “Sofia is fighting with El Pingüino (Colin Farrell) for control of the city”.
The limited series will have its first two episodes directed by Craig Zobel (The Hunt), con Lauren LeFranc (Chuck, Agents of SHIELD), as writer and showrunner.
- The plot of the series will follow the events of the film.
Reeves will executive produce, alongside Farrell, LeFranc, and Dylan Clark..
