This whole wheat banana cinnamon cake features a classic combination of flavors that never goes out of style.

Ingredients

  • 2 eggs

  • 2 ripe bananas

  • 1 cup milk (220 ml)

  • 1/2 cup sugar (110 ml)

  • 2 cups whole wheat flour (440 ml)

  • 1 tablespoon baking powder

  • 1 tablespoon butter or margarine

  • 1 dessert spoon ground cinnamon (about 2 teaspoons)

  • Ground cinnamon and sugar, for sprinkling

Directions

  • Place the mashed bananas, eggs, sugar, butter or margarine, milk, whole wheat flour, and ground cinnamon in a blender. Blend for 1 minute until smooth.
  • Add the baking powder and blend just until incorporated. Pour the batter into a greased and floured cake pan.
  • Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for approximately 30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Allow the cake to cool before removing it from the pan. Finish by sprinkling the top with a mixture of ground cinnamon and sugar. Serve and enjoy!
