Make zaatar and enjoy a traditional Arabic seasoning that is aromatic, tasty, and simple to prepare.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup dried thyme

  • 2 tablespoons dried oregano

  • 2 tablespoons dried basil

  • 2 tablespoons toasted sesame seeds

  • 2 tablespoons lemon (dried zest)

Directions

  • In a bowl, mix the dried thyme, oregano, and basil well.
  • Add the dried lemon zest and toasted sesame seeds, and mix thoroughly.
  • Grind the mixture of dry ingredients using a blender or food processor.
  • Store the zaatar in an airtight container, and it’s ready to use.
