Blumhouse y Universal Pictures They are preparing a new genre film collaboration, the supernatural horror thriller Night Swimwhich in our market we will know as sinister waters.
With a theatrical release date set for January 2024, the studios continue the film's marketing campaign, releasing a new official trailer, accompanied by Billie Eilish's musical theme, 'bury a friend’which you find at the end of this note.
Night Swim is based on the acclaimed 2014 short film by Bryce McGuire y Rod Blackhurstboth resume their work as co-writers, and McGuire as director of the feature film, whose plot revolves around a former MLB player whose family moves to a house with a haunted pool.
When you get there, you will discover some rules: “Do not run. Do not submerge. No lifeguards on duty. “No swimming after dark.”
SYNOPSIS:
“The film stars Wyatt Russell (Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, Falcon and the Winter Solider, Overlord) as Ray Waller, a former major league baseball player who is forced into early retirement by a degenerative disease and moves to a new home with his distraught wife Eve (Oscar® nominee Kerry CondonThe Banshees of Inisherin), his teenage daughter Izzy (Amélie HoeferleThe Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes) and his young son Elliot (Gavin Warren, Fear the Walking Dead).
Secretly hoping against all odds to return to professional baseball, Ray convinces Eve that the sparkling pool in the new house's backyard will be fun for the kids and give him a chance to heal with physical therapy. But a dark secret in the home's past will unleash a malevolent force that will drag the family into the depths of a terror from which there is no escape.
The film also stars Nancy Lenehan, Jodi Long y Ben Sinclair.

McGuire directs and co-writes the feature film. James Wan y Jason Blum they produce under their companies Atomic Monster and Blumhouse, respectively, with co-writer Blackhurst serving as executive producer, alongside Atomic Monster's Michael Clear and Judson Scott, and Blumhouse's Ryan Turek.
sinister waters will be released in theaters on January 4, 2024 in Mexico, and on January 5, 2024 in the US.
