Make this simple bacon jam and discover its incredible, unmatched flavor.

Ingredients

  • 100 grams of chili jam

  • 100 grams of chopped bacon

  • 2 teaspoons of balsamic vinegar

  • 20 ml of cognac

  • 1 chopped onion

  • A pinch of salt

Directions

  • Fry the chopped bacon in a large pan, stirring occasionally, until it reduces slightly and the fat renders.
  • Add the chopped onion and the cognac, and cook over low heat, stirring well until the fat loosens from the bottom of the pan.
  • Add the balsamic vinegar and stir for another 5 minutes over low heat. Add the salt and mix well.
  • Add the chili jam and continue stirring for another 5 minutes over low heat, until the liquid reduces.
  • Turn off the heat, let the jam cool, and transfer it to a sterilized glass jar with a lid.
  • Store the bacon jam in the refrigerator and enjoy it with meats, sandwiches, cheeses, salads, breads, toast, crackers, and more.
