I recently discovered that Live Skull's discography is on Bandcamp, so today while I was reading about the band and choosing one of their albums to put on the wheel, the algorithm acted in my favor and poured into my frozen ears the first and only single from Dangerous Birds, and then I changed my mind. Because smart people change their minds and because it was hard to choose a Live Skull album hahaha.

Don't know who Live Skull or Dangerous Birds are? I suggest you seek knowledge (It could be here, in this short text about the Uzi) about the woman-entity called Thalia Zedec.

To summarize – as almost always – the story, the Dangerous Birds are Thalia's second band, formed alongside Lori Green, whom she met while recording “Midge”, the only song (as far as I know) by her first group, White Women. The recording was for a compilation by Propeller Records, the same label that a year before this Birds single released another compilation “Catholic Boy”, a track that only features Zedec and studio musicians; and also in 1982 “Emergency”, the last of the 4 songs they released before Thalia hit the road and arrived at the aforementioned Uzi, Live Skull, Come and beyond.

By the way, if a story I read is true, it's lucky it didn't work out: I couldn't confirm it, but it seems the rest of the band died in a plane crash. As soon as I can check it, I'll update it here.

Returning to Dangerous Birds, the link below shows everything they recorded, and the difference between Lori Green's verve, more pop ahead of DB with “Alpha Romeo”, and Thalia's, more nervous and experimental with the following three tracks, is notable.

Anyway, one of these days I'll come back with one of the Live Skull albums, when I manage to choose one of them (laughs).

Discover. Or rediscover.
