Fried Polenta

Ingredients
2 cups of cornmeal (240 grams)
3 cloves of garlic
1/2 onion
300 ml of cold water
700 ml of hot water
cornmeal for breading
salt to taste
Directions
- In a container, place the cornmeal and cold water, mix well and set aside.Â
Add a drizzle of olive oil in a pan, add the chopped onion and sauté for 1 minute, stirring constantly. - Add the crushed garlic and sauté for another 1 minute, stirring well.Â
Add the hydrated cornmeal, hot water, salt to taste and cook stirring constantly for 5 minutes.Â
Transfer the dough to a baking sheet, spread out and allow to cool to room temperature. - Cover the polenta and leave it in the fridge for 2 hours.Â
Then cut it into strips of the size you prefer and coat in cornmeal.Â
Fry in preheated oil until golden. - Carefully remove the fried polenta strips from the oil, transfer to a plate or plate lined with paper towels and the recipe is ready to serve.
