No, they are no longer 'so Televivision' and yes, they are more 'polished', but the music of the trio (or now quartet?) Omni continues to make my head with their latest album, Souvenir.

Released in February via Sub Pop, the album is one of the ones I've listened to the most throughout this year, which is coming to an end, and as I've been doing sporadically, today I decided to add another one of my favorites from 2024.

For those who didn't understand some of the nonsense at the beginning of this short text, two quick explanations: go to Networker (2019 album by the group about which I already wrote a few lines) and remove in practice the reference to Television; Once that's done, see that Kristopher Sampson's production really improved the rawness of the guys (without taking away their essence) and last but not least, notice that we have a female voice here, in this case that of Izzy Glaudini ( of the sensational Automatic) in three tracks.

Having made these small observations, check that in Souvenir Omni follows the path it never left, searching for new wave and post-punk – Television (yes, fuck! hahaha), Blondie, Devoetc. – the right influences to create a sound that harks back to the past but doesn't smell musty, energetic and angular, tailored to shake up the body and ideas.

Listen to the stalk!
